The difference between OEM, Compatible and Remanufactured.

OEM
Original Equipment Manufacturer (“OEM”) cartridges are brand new toner cartridges bearing the original brand names, such as HP, Lexmark, Brother, Canon, etc.

COMPATIBLE
Compatible laser toner cartridges are generally new toner cartridges manufactured by third-parties to meet or exceed OEM specifications. Compatible cartridges generally contain new components and are an economical alternative to expensive name brand cartridges.

REMANUFACTURED
Remanufactured cartridges are an economical alternative to expensive name brand OEM cartridges. These cartridges are professionally remanufactured and recycled to meet OEM specifications of quality and reliability. Typically, remanufacturing involves disassembling, inspecting, cleaning, replacing parts, reassembling, and filling with toner. Once the remanufacturing process is complete, the cartridge is then print tested, sealed, and packaged for resale.

 
Why Buy Remanufactured?

These words are seductive to the environmentally conscious purchasers among us. But what are they? What do they mean? Knowing the answer may make the difference in clinching a contract with this type of buyer.

Remanufacturing is the process of restoring worn and discarded durable products to like-new condition. This discarded product, or core, is collected by either the company that originally manufactured the good or by an independent remanufacture. Once the product has been restored to its original condition or performance, it is sold to consumers as a remanufactured good.

In contrast to recycling, which converts the collected product back into raw material to be used to manufacture an original product, remanufacturing recaptures large fractions of all the resources that go into a product’s manufacture. Traditional recycling does not capture the value added, meaning cost of labor, energy, capital and manufacturing operations, which is the largest element of the product’s cost, therefore reducing a product to its element value. Recycling also requires added labor, energy and processing capital to turn the raw material back into a new product. Remanufacturing on the other hand captures much of the value added to the original product.

We will cover any cost required to return or exchange the product or repair your machine should a defect in our compatible or re-manufactured supply cause damage to your printer, fax or copier. Our confidence in this product allows us to make this guarantee.

Should you incur a repair bill as a result of a defect in our compatible or re-manufactured products simply provide us with the repair bill and a signed statement from your service technician detailing the cause of the damage and send along with the defective product for a quick review of your claim. All original brand products (OEM) supply items carry their own warranty with their products and claims for damages to equipment using original brand products must be filled with the manufacturer of those particular products. Our liability for OEM products is limited to replacement of any defective products only.

Our liability under this warranty shall be limited to replacement or reimbursement as provided above. This warranty is exclusive, and in lieu of all other warranties, expressed, or implied. Including warranties or merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Seller shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages. All goods are shipped upon conditions that Buyer accepts these terms, if not Buyer must promptly return the goods and notify Seller in writing. These terms supersede all prior oral or written terms or representations and may be waived or modified only in writing and signed by an officer of the Seller.

 

Shipping

We charge a flat ground rate for shipping and handling of $9.95 per order for any address within the CONTINENTAL USA for orders less than $54.99 and offer free shipping if you order $55.00 or more in supplies.

American Toner Recycling delivers your order via FedEx ground 1-5 days nationwide. The closer you are to California the faster you get your package. Your package will be insured against damage and loss at no additional cost to you so you can order with peace of mind. All packages are shipped with a tracking number. If you need date specific or express delivery please call or e-mail us, an additional shipping fee may apply. On most items, we ship on the same business day if we receive your order before 3:00 P.M. (PST). However, our normal order processing time is 1-3 business days. Any orders received on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) or on a holiday will be processed on the next available business day (Monday through Friday).

Warranties

Toner / Ink cartridges
Are guaranteed to be free of defects in material and workmanship. If you ever experience a defective or unsatisfactory product, we will replace it or refund the full purchase price. We also guarantee that, under normal use and subject to the conditions stated below, our remanufactured and compatible cartridges, toner, drum, ink, ribbon, and thermal transfer ribbon will not cause damage, abnormal wear or deterioration to any Printer, Fax, or Copier providing the equipment is operated within manufacturer's specifications. In the unlikely event that a defective product causes your Printer, Fax or Copier to fail, whether within the manufacturer's warranty period or after, we will perform the necessary service and repair free of charge. To obtain service please call 661-589-7896. Our liability under this warranty shall be limited to replacement or reimbursement as provided above. This warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties, expressed, or implied including warranties or merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Printer / Copier / Fax Machine
New O.E.M. units are warranted by that manufacturer and have to be taken to an Authorized Service Center. 
All Refurbished units are warranted by that manufacturer.

 
Will using your cartridges void my warranty?

The Original Equipment Manufacturer (O.E.M) cannot void your equipment warranty for using Non-OEM cartridges. In fact, there are laws preventing manufacturers from doing just that. This is because the brand of supplies you purchase is your decision. DO NOT be taken advantage of - You are not required by any machine manufacturers warranty to use only its brand. Our cartridges are manufactured and guaranteed to work within the tolerances and specifications of your machine.

Please take a moment and read the Magnuson-Moss warranty Improvement Act. We believe that it is very important for you to understand this law because some manufacturers attempt to scare consumers into thinking they can only buy the manufacturer's replacement cartridge.

Return Policy

All Returns are subject to approval and to a 18% restocking fee.

OEM Products
All OEM Products returned unopened within 5 days from date of purchase will be assessed a 18% restocking fee.

Remanufactured Products
If a product did not perform to your satisfaction you can return the unused portion of the
 product for replacement within 90 days of purchase.

Compatible Toner / Ink Cartridges
We will gladly give you a full refund on unopened compatible toner and/or ink cartridges purchased up to 10 days ago.

A Return Authorization (RA) Number must be obtained before any products can be return. Call 661-589-7896 for RA Number and return instructions. Returns will not be accepted without a RA Number.

Printer / Copier / Fax Machines
Any in stock unit may be returned up to 5 days after receipt of product, provided that all boxes, manuals, software or accessories are included. Items with missing boxes, manuals, software or accessories will be exchanged only, when the components are returned, and/or will be subject to a 18% restocking fee. Items without intact UPC Barcodes are not returnable. All Special Order units are subject to a 18% restocking fee. Shipping is paid by customer. All Special Order parts are not returnable or refundable.
